PPSA

The Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth) — the federal scheme governing security interests over personal property in Australia.

The Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth) (PPSA) governs how security interests over personal property (anything other than land) are created, perfected and enforced in Australia. Security interests are registered on the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR). Registering correctly — and on time — affects priority and what happens to the secured property if the grantor becomes insolvent.
