Probate
A grant from the Supreme Court of Queensland confirming a will is valid and authorising the executor to administer the deceased's estate.
Probate is a court order issued by the Supreme Court of Queensland that recognises a will as the last valid will of the deceased and confirms the executor's authority to deal with estate assets. It is often required before banks, share registries or the Titles Office will release or transfer significant assets. Where there is no will, an administrator may apply for letters of administration instead.
