Katrina Strachan

Katrina is the firm's dedicated Compliance and Risk Manager, bringing over 15 years of post-admission legal experience to her role. Based at our Redlands office, she plays a vital part in maintaining the integrity and quality of our legal services by ensuring compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement across the firm.

A qualified solicitor, Katrina now focuses on the operational side of legal practice, where she is responsible for managing and maintaining the firm's precedent database, supporting the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures, liaising with the firm's insurer to ensure compliance with professional obligations, and conducting regular internal file audits to uphold the firm's high standards.

Prior to transitioning into her current role, Katrina practised as a commercial property solicitor with McCarthy Durie Lawyers (formerly McCarthy Durie Ryan Neil Solicitors). Her legal work included general commercial matters, commercial conveyancing, leasing, succession law, and property development.

Katrina's comprehensive understanding of both legal practice and operational risk management, combined with her attention to detail and commitment to excellence, make her an invaluable asset to the MDL team.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Laws – Queensland University of Technology (2000); Bachelor of Applied Science – Queensland University of Technology (2000). Memberships: Queensland Law Society.
