Stephen Gibson

Stephen leads McCarthy Durie Lawyers' Property and Commercial team in the Redlands. An Accredited Specialist in Property Law, he brings decades of experience and a deep understanding of Queensland's property landscape to his role.

Stephen's practice focuses almost exclusively on property law, with significant expertise across a broad spectrum of transactions and developments. He regularly advises on complex matters involving commercial and retail shop leasing, property development and acquisition, funding and structuring, joint ventures, and property syndication.

Renowned for his practical and commercially minded approach, Stephen is committed to achieving high-quality, workable outcomes for his clients. His prior background as a property surveyor — coupled with his ongoing interest in small property development projects — gives him unique, on-the-ground insight that complements his legal expertise.

Stephen is also heavily involved in the local community, serving on various boards and panels that support business and community development initiatives.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Surveying (USQ); Bachelor of Laws (QUT); Accredited Specialist in Property Law (QLS). Memberships: Queensland Law Society; Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
